As Edgewater evolves, the demands on our fire department grow alongside it. The need for expansion has become critical.

 

We are embarking on a vital fundraising campaign, “IGNITE the FUTURE - Building Tomorrow’s Fire Station Today.”  

 

This new facility will provide our dedicated fire professionals, volunteers, and trainees with the modern equipment and space they need.

This new facility is not just bricks and mortar; it's the heart of future readiness, ensuring our fire department can continue to provide exceptional service and protection to our community.

The time is now. The Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department, now known as the Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department, stands at a pivotal moment in its history. Our unwavering commitment to serving the community requires us to seek a new home, one that will enable us to meet the evolving needs of our growing population and ensure enhanced safety for all.

Initial plans to acquire land at the intersection of Routes 2 and 214 for a new station encountered feasibility issues, redirecting attention towards an alternate site across the street on Stepney's Lane.

 

With this newly secured and approved land, coupled with architectural designs in place, the department seeks to embark on a fundraising initiative to raise $8,000,000. This funding will support constructing a modern fire station essential for accommodating the escalating demand for fire professionals, volunteers, trainees, and equipment, ensuring continued effective service to our community.
