Established in 1946, the Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department, now known as Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department - Home of the Woodland Beach Volunteers, has been Edgewater, Maryland's cornerstone of safety and emergency response.

As the sole fire department in Edgewater with 20 assigned career personnel and over 100 riding and auxiliary members, it has courageously met every challenge, ensuring the protection of our homes, families, businesses, and community life protection.
